What to Expect
When you work with Blake Building & Remodeling, we make a commitment to you to deliver on our principles and specifically provide:
Timely communication
The manager of your project will communicate in-person, by phone, by email, or by text message on the status of your project
We will communicate problems or issues immediately or as soon as reasonably possible.
Clean jobsite
We will ensure that the site is swept clean, trash removed, and materials stacked neatly at the end of each workday
Professional work
We will meet or exceed local building codes and conform to agreed designs, specifications, and plans.
Schedule conformance
We will strive always to meet agreed timelines.
While unforeseen circumstances (weather, labor availability, material availability, etc.) are a fact of life, we will always attempt to first find a way to maintain the schedule and, where that is not possible, collaborate with you to modify the timeline.
Once we start your project, we will not pause work or direct resources elsewhere unless agreed to.
Fair and respectful interaction and negotiation
We live by the Golden Rule and treat others as we would like to be treated.

There is a reason that our founder, Dan Blake, decided to name the business after his family name. We put that name on the line and live our principles each day to create an enduring legacy.
About Our Founder
Our founder, Dan Blake, has a lifelong love for building and creating beautiful, well-engineered designs for people to enjoy living. He considers the happiness on a customer's face at seeing the finished product as his biggest reward and fulfillment of his purpose in using the gifts of engineering and craftsmanship given to him by our creator.
Dan began his career in the building industry while in high school, working for electrical, concrete construction, and residential contractors. At the age of 18, he founded Blake Home Improvements and became a licensed home improvement contractor, working his way through college building decks and fences and remodeling homes in Maryland in the counties surrounding Baltimore.
Dan graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he went to work for the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company as a Field Engineer, working in estimation, bidding, scheduling, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and project management for bridges, malls, wastewater treatment plants, and high-rise medical and office buildings. Known for his expertise in computers, management tasked him with utilizing construction software including CAD (Computer-Aided Design), Scheduling, Estimation/Takeoff, and spreadsheet software and training other engineers in the use of these tools.
Seeing a demand for the use of technology in construction, Dan started a company, Optimum Construction Concepts, to offer technology services to the construction industry. Dan continued working in his remodeling business and also helped two friends establish successful homebuilding businesses. He then worked in IT and engineering for a national homebuilder and three Maryland-based homebuilders. As the IT industry flourished in the early 2000s, Dan's career shifted to general IT, working as a consultant. He founded, built, and sold an IT firm then went to work for a top Big-Tech company. Through the IT period of his career, Dan remodeled three of his own homes on the side, keeping his hands in the work that he really loves.
In 2022, Dan moved his family to Jupiter, FL, an area they had vacationed in frequently and a community they loved. Feeling the pull to get back to doing what he loves most, he founded Blake Building and Remodeling. Dan looks forward to serving his neighbors in the South Florida community, helping them build their dream home and spaces to enjoy living.
